DIE GALERIE

History:
For the past 31 years, the gallerist Peter Femfert has vouched for a sophisticated gallery concept of groundbreaking developments in the art of the 20th century as well as of promising and multifaceted contemporary positions.
Activities:
Alongside the conception and organisation of art exhibitions in both the gallery rooms as well as in prestigious museums, cultural institutes and other international galleries, the sphere of activities in-cludes publishing in addition to – first and foremost – art consultancy and advice for collectors, enthusiasts and professionals. The landmark step of expanding the environment of activities to Asia by opening the branch DIE GALERIE Seoul in January 2009 is a consequence of a longstanding and successful international involvement.
Programme:
In both locations, Frankfurt on the Main and Seoul, about five exhibitions in a year are organised showing original paintings, drawings and sculptures. The gallery focus on Modern Art, especially on Surrealism, and CoBrA art as well as on contemporary figurative art led to numerous solo and group exhibitions on these fields, such as Max Ernst, André Masson, Jean Dubuffet, Corneille, Lucebert, Eduardo Arroyo, Emilio Tadini, Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Volker Stelzmann, Enrico Baj, Robert Combas, Feng Zhengjie, Heiner Meyer and sculptors like Igor Mitoraj, Miguel Berrocal and Dietrich Klinge. DIE GALERIE generally publishes a catalogue for each exhibition.
Art Fairs:
Presentations at the most important art fairs are usual, as at Art Cologne, Arte Fiera Bologna, Art Paris, KIAF Seoul, ARCO Madrid, Art Paris Abu Dhabi, Moscow World Fine Art Fair, Art Chicago and The Armory Show New York. The presentation at these art fairs have always been of highest quality with exceptional works by Marc Chagall, Max Ernst, René Magritte, André Masson, Pablo Picasso, Pierre Alechinsky, Karel Appel, Corneille, Lucebert, Asger Jorn and a sensitive selection of contemporary artists.
Cooperations:
By 31 years of networking DIE GALERIE has established contacts to museums, collectors, dealers, artists and art estates and has been able to initiate and organize a number of internationally recognized exhibitions like Dietrich Klinge – Sculptures at the Archeological Museums and places in six medieval cities in Tuscany, Italy, then travelling to Frankfurt, Germany, Es Baluard, Palma de Mallorca and currently to France; Robert Combas – Joke’r at Ludwig Museum, Koblenz; Lucebert at Stedelijk Museum Schiedam, Netherlands, and Danubiana Museum, Bratislava; Friedensreich Hundertwasser - A Sunday Architect at Deutsches Architektur Museum, Frankfurt and other German museums; André Masson.
